Select Board · Meeting of June 15, 2026
ERVING — The Erving Select Board paused a wheeled excavator lease after the numbers from the dealer didn't match what town meeting had approved. Highway Superintendent Glenn McCrory said a zero percent lease option disappeared after the vote, and Selectman James Loynd said the new quote, $48,182.72 annually, ran thousands of dollars over budget, calling it "bait and switch." The board unanimously demanded a full pricing breakdown before moving forward. Separately, it approved $105,450 for a new highway truck from Marcotte Ford Sales, $61,000 for Weston & Sampson Engineers to redesign a Ridge Road curve, and swore in two new police officers, Nicolas Stone and Fred Bezio.
The board also learned the Franklin Regional Transit Authority has run Erving's senior van service since November and will check in with the board again in September.
