Select Board · Meeting of October 19, 2026
ERVING — The Erving Select Board approved transferring the West Main Street package store's liquor license to new owners. The board voted unanimously to approve Kashinath, Inc.'s purchase of Fliss Market, to become Erving Market and Spirits, with attorney Sydney Prokos representing buyers Nita Ben-Patel and Tejal Ben-Patel. Selling co-owner Elizabeth Fliss called the six years of ownership "an incredible joy and incredible learning." Separately, staff reported zero contractors agreed to plow this winter, pushing the town toward a seasonal hire that cannot start for 60 days.
The board also pulled a proposed dog-control bylaw from the November 16 special town meeting warrant over unresolved funding questions, while recommending a Planning Board zoning amendment 2-0 with member Jacquelyn Boyden abstaining. Senior center staff flagged chronic understaffing, running 60 weekly staff hours against 32.5 open hours.
