School Committee · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Erving School Committee voted to form a five-member subcommittee to review its tuition agreement with Gill-Montague. The panel will include one school committee member, two townspeople, two parents and a nonvoting administrative liaison, with Superintendent Shannon White-Cleveland noting the group would look at "other possibilities" beyond the current tuition deal. Member Mark Blatchley pushed through fast-tracked adoption of two policies, the school year calendar and curriculum development and adoption, after members confirmed only legal references had changed.

The board also adopted a health education policy on a suspended-procedure vote. Principal Beth Gannon reported preschool enrollment at 18 students and detailed a technology-safety session warning that "3.3 million Snapchats sent per minute" disappear but are not truly gone. Finance staff reported the town's school budgets passed at Town Meeting with a 1.25 percent increase.
