Select Board · Meeting of April 13, 2026

ERVING — The Erving Select Board voted to appoint two new patrol officers and approved the town's Annual Town Meeting warrant for May 13. Chief Robert Holst recommended part-timer Fred Bezio, hired at $32.96 an hour, and full-timer Christian Lowell-Williams, who goes by Christian Lowell, hired at $28.16 an hour pending completion of the police academy. In a joint session, Finance Committee Chair Debra Smith and the board settled on a 3 percent base wage adjustment, about $57,183, and agreed to fund a Board of Health staffing increase to 40 hours a week at a net cost of $8,500.

Debra Smith asked "is there 40 hours worth of work?" before the panel approved the increase. The board shifted $20,000 to Public Works after a vacant highway foreman position left Selectman William Bembury "concerned with leaving a position vacant." The board also approved a $392,470.86 accounts payable warrant.
