Erving Select Board Enters Closed Session Over Personnel Matter, Skips Open Business
ERVING — May 12, 2020 — Erving Select Board went directly into executive session Tuesday over an undisclosed personnel matter, conducting no public business. Chair Jacob Smith called the remote meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. under Governor Baker's COVID-19 executive order permitting audio-video conferencing, then immediately moved to close the session under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 38, Section 21A, Paragraph 1 — the provision covering discipline, dismissal, or complaints against a public employee. Members Smith and William Bembury voted in favor; a third roll-call name was recorded in the transcript but does not appear on the current board roster. The board did not return to open session.
