Erving Select Board Approves Financial Software RFP, Canine Fund, Housing Appointments

ERVING — March 6, 2023 — Erving Select Board approves financial software RFP, canine gift fund, and three Senior Housing Committee appointments in one session. The board voted unanimously Monday to release a request for proposals for financial management software, with bids due April 3, 2023, after directing staff to update the draft to require Azure Active Directory integration and strike conflicting password-management requirements. Town Planner Mariah flagged a roughly $200,000 discrepancy in TimeBond's AP Mill demolition cost estimates, prompting Member James Loynd to declare "I don't think it should be our job to double-check their math" — the board agreed to hold a community forum in late March to gauge resident interest in a debt exclusion to cover an estimated $3.4 million net demolition cost against $600,000 in existing Mass Development grant funds. Leslie Brown, Gene Galabrath, and George Moonlight Davis were appointed to the Senior Housing Committee on the panel's own recommendation, and a dedicated gift fund was established for the Police Department's canine officer program.
