Erving Library Trustees Set Interview Schedule for Seven Director Candidates
ERVING — April 27, 2020 — Erving's library trustees finalized 12 interview questions and a three-day schedule to interview seven candidates for the library director position. The Board of Trustees, meeting by videoconference on April 27, worked through a shared Google Doc to trim and combine more than a dozen proposed questions covering COVID-19 service adaptations, young adult and older adult programming, technology support, budget advocacy, community collaboration, event planning, and leadership style. Interviews are set to run one hour each — roughly 45 minutes of questions followed by time for committee scoring — beginning at 5 p.m. on a Thursday and Friday evening and concluding with three slots at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday. The committee debated but did not resolve how to formally involve departing director Barbara in the evaluation process, with Chair McKenzie agreeing to seek further procedural guidance from staff coordinator Brian.
