Erving Assessors Approve Abatements, $1,600 Map Contract at March Meeting

ERVING — March 9, 2021 — Erving Board of Assessors approves roughly $1,720 in motor vehicle abatements and a $1,600 mapping contract at March meeting. The board voted unanimously to approve three separate batches of motor vehicle excise abatements — $290.18 for Perth Inc. and one additional party, $126.14 for Theresa Foster and Erica Clark, and $1,304 for Toyota Lease Trust and Derek Thayer — before approving renewal of the town's annual tax map maintenance contract with Cartographic Associates at the same $1,600 rate as prior years. The town assessor also told the board that a planned upgrade of the AssessPro assessing software has been deferred at least one year at the recommendation of the state Department of Revenue, with the Capital Improvement Committee's prior approval intact. The board closed its public session with a 2-0 roll-call vote to enter executive session to review real estate abatements and exemptions under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 59, Section 60.
