Erving Select Board Sets Course to Sell IP Mill and Former Graded School
ERVING — July 12, 2021 — Erving Select Board aligns on plan to sell IP Mill and former Graded School through formal procurement. At the July 12 meeting, Chair Jacob Smith and members William Bembury and James Loynd agreed unanimously to pursue a request for information for the IP Mill complex and a draft request for proposals for the former Graded School, favoring commercial and industrial reuse at the mill and residential development at the school. Staff member Mariah reported that a MassDevelopment technical assistance grant of between $5,000 and $50,000 has an application deadline of August 16, and the board authorized her to apply. The board also approved a phased reopening of Town Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays for at least four hours per day, contingent on completion of UV air filtration installation. Three FY22 water commitments totaling $10,360 were approved, and screening committees were established for two open maintenance positions.
