Erving Library Trustees Approve Annual Report, Eye March Meeting Room Reopening

ERVING — February 21, 2021 — Erving Library Trustees welcomed a new member and moved toward reopening the library's meeting rooms as early as March 1. At the February 21 GoToWebinar session, the three-member Board of Library Trustees unanimously approved the library's FY 2020 annual report and agreed on ground rules for limited meeting room use: Thursdays and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m., groups of up to roughly eight to ten people in the community room, no fees, and at least one Erving resident per booking for contact tracing. Director Natani flagged that the electricity budget line had hit nearly 80 percent with months remaining in the fiscal year, with the newly activated solar system not yet producing a clear reduction in bills; trustees discussed a possible reserve fund transfer through the Finance Committee. The board also pressed for full replacement of the new library's front door and raised renewed alarms about an uninstalled ADA door sensor, roof snow hazards, and a bulletin board trustees say is too small to post the annual town meeting warrant.
