ERVING — March 10, 2021 — Erving Library Committee advances landscaping plan and presses contractor on warranty deficiencies. At the March 10 video meeting, the committee confirmed roughly $15,000 to $17,000 in unspent construction funds remain available, with $10,000 earmarked for plantings and a possible surplus eyed for safety fencing along two rear ravines. Master gardener Theresa, of Dry Brook Garden, was given flexibility to select native plant material from Wine Six Nursery — where the town holds a discounted municipal account — with a planting party targeted for late April or early May. The committee also reviewed an extensive one-year warranty punch list against Maroi Construction covering delaminating doors on nearly every opening, mismatched patio aggregate, wall paint deficiencies, cracked beams, and a still-unresolved ADA-compliant automatic door opener that was improperly treated as a change order during construction. Trustee member Mackenzie called it "inconceivable" that basic ADA compliance would have been billed as an extra, and Brian confirmed retainage on the architect's P3 contract will not be released until the issue is fixed.
