Erving Conservation Commission Continues Dube Wetlands Hearing to May

ERVING — April 6, 2020 — Erving Conservation Commission delays decision on Flag Hill construction permit until May. The commission voted unanimously at its April 6 remote meeting to continue the public hearing on a Notice of Intent filed by applicant Jeff Dube for a proposed home at the corner of North and Flag Hill Road — a project with roots going back to a 2004 inquiry before the board. Chairman David Brule said the extension would allow staff to revise the draft order of conditions to incorporate new requirements proposed by Commissioner Beth Basler, including three years of annual reports on native plantings and invasive species management, as well as a change to erosion-control language sought by Dube. Abutters Betty Lou and Peter raised questions about historic wetlands maps and floodplain status during public comment; Brule noted DEP had advised that the lot's pre-1996 registry recording grandfathered the riverfront protection zone requirements. The commission also unanimously approved its February 2 minutes.
