Erving Planning Board reviews PUD overlay bylaw, approves three sets of minutes

ERVING — September 17, 2020 — Erving Planning Board reviews draft planned unit development overlay bylaw aimed at mill site redevelopment. Meeting via GoToWebinar on September 17, the board heard from Peggy Sloane of the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, who presented a draft PUD bylaw that would allow multiple uses and buildings on a single parcel under a special permit process, with a proposed minimum lot size of two acres and a 35-foot height limit for new structures, with historic mill buildings exempt from that cap. Sloane also presented amendments updating the town's marijuana establishment use table to add medical marijuana treatment centers, micro-businesses, and delivery-only retail operations. No votes were taken on either set of bylaw changes; the board directed Sloane to adjust the overlay map to align with the central village and French King commercial districts, pending a broader question of whether the French King district should be eliminated entirely. The board voted unanimously to approve minutes from three prior meetings and set its next regular meeting for October 15.
